The virtual space is worth attention: the Internet Group of Eight’s forum started in Paris before the summit of the Leaders of the Group of Eight took place in Dovile. The number one subject at the summit in Paris is the concession of freedom and civil rights in the worldwide web. One of the first persons to speak on the subject was Nicolas Sarkozy: “The space you imagine is not the parallel reality, free from the law, morals and all of the basic democratic principles social life in the democratic countries is guided by.”
The first in history forum of the Group of Eight gathered together more than 1000 visitors, including the owners and creators of Facebook, Google and Amazon. As the result of the two-days discussion in Paris the document, which promises to become the so-called message to the leaders of the Group of Eight, will be adopted.
For twenty years we have been working to civilize the Internet-space. It is possible that different people consider this process in different ways. For us civilized rules mean freedom, openness and minimum intervention on the part of moderators”, – mentioned the representative of the Electronic Borders Association.
The forum participants also prepare the set of regulations on the Internet management, not strictly legislative by their nature but recommended for observance by all of the Internet society members.
